Wondrous Woolton Renovation

After a short hiatus, we are back with a weekly work blog that you really do not want to miss. In this blog post, we will showcase a bathroom we recently finished in the Woolton area of Liverpool. For the main focal point of the room, we went with a 1200 Wide wall hung vanity and illuminated mirror above. This is a project we have been excited to show you since we first visited the property. We hope you enjoy seeing this transformation as much as we enjoyed creating this wondrous Woolton renovation.

This project took two weeks to complete and countless hours of laboursome and loving work. From the first day rip-out through to the final touches, every aspect of each job undertaken holds the same weighting. We make the whole experience as stressfree and easy as possible by working with trusted people and creating relationships with all of those involved in every project.

Comparison

The Project – Out with the old

The first stage was to completely rip out the room back to its bare shell. As you can see, that was no easy task. The two original bathtubs were built into a false floor which all had to come out. The majority of the piping for the entire house was located below this false floor. Meaning that first-fix plumbing not only consisted of making the alterations we needed but dropping all the pipework below the original floor. On top of this, two stud walls were taken out to create one large room.

Once all of the first fix plumbing and joinery is complete, we can then move onto prepping the room for tiling. New boards were installed ensuring that only moisture-resistant plasterboards are used in water areas. On top of this, 35mm foam thermal insulating plasterboards were used on the external wall to meet building regulations and keep the room warm. Then, our team plastered the new ceiling and then poured a self-leveling compound over underfloor heating.

The project – In with the new

As with every project, a wedge leveling system is used to eliminate tile lippage. All floor tiles were applied using a back butter and comb technique ensuring that there are no voids or weak areas. This only adds to the longevity of the room itself. Something that we all want to achieve as it is this work that our business is built on. That, and the fact that each project comes with a 2-year guarantee.

As you can see for yourself, the finished result is spectacular. Each and every part of the room only adds to it. Here are some of our favorite features. The huge 2 x 0.9-meter shower tray with an Aqualisa shower. The beautiful Eastbrook Peretti aluminum radiators. We couldn’t be happier with how this one turned out and to make use of such a large area was a challenging but equally rewarding task.
