On this week’s work blog post, we are bringing to you a Fabulous Yew Tree Farm Transformation from Halewood, Liverpool. This project took a dated bathroom and transformed it into modern masterpiece. We worked with our client throughout the project, ensuring that the little details such are all correct. Something that we love doing, as it is the little details that go the longest way. For this project, this meant making the room appear as large as possible with the low ceiling height whilst having as much storage as possible.
Let us know what you think via any of our social media channels. Hopefully, you can take some inspiration and see what we could do for you and your bathroom dreams. Welcome, to our Fabulous Yew Tree Farm Transformation.
Comparison – The Before & After

The Project – Starting Off
As with every project undertaken by the team at Stunning Bathrooms, we start by laying protective flooring in and around all areas that will be subject to foot traffic and other work associated areas. This is done with a combination of protecting rolls like Roll & Stroll and dust sheets over furniture and bedding.

From here we then fully rip out the existing bathroom. One of the most frequently asked questions we get is how long will our water or electricity be turned off for and how long will our toilet be out of action for.

Typically water is only off for most of the first day and potentially an hour or so on the second day. This is when we rip out, to ensure that we have no unwanted leaks. Secondly, to complete any first fix plumbing that is needed. The electricity typically is only off for an hour or so, normally on the second day that we are on site. Our team complete all necessary circuits, test and then finally connect to the mains ring circuit, allowing us to minimise the time electricity is off in these modern work from home times.
Toilets are unfortunately another story. Never the less not to worry! You will have a toilet every evening so long as other unforeseen building work needs to be carried out such as work to a soil stack. However, the toilet in the room where we are working will be out of action while our team are working away. Please do note that the above is subject to changes and cannot always be guaranteed. These are only guides on how previous projects tend to run!
The Project – Midway Through
At the halfway mark, bathrooms are fully first fixed with plumbing, electrical work and joinery. Allowing us to tank and waterproof before tiling begins. We can see this project prior to boarding substrates, which highlight the detail and workmanship that goes into all our projects.

Tiling can now begin! For this project, our clients picked a beautiful 120 x 60cm Marble effect porcelain tile as a main, which was accompanied by a 60 x 60 dark porcelain floor tile giving the room that luxury contrast.
We always use a base and wedge system when tiling, giving us no lippage in-between tiles and a perfect 2mm grout line. We silicone all internal corners around the room future proofing between movement of your home, and keeping it that bit easier to keep clean.
The Project – The Reveal

The room was fully furnished with a suite from Easy Bathrooms and brassware from Aqualisa. Grey was the colour of the week here, to match perfectly with the vein of the marble tile and give us the hotel feel we were after for this Fabulous Yew Tree Farm Transformation.

We used an overflow bath filler, a personal favourite design philosophy of ours. Although it is a bit more expensive and requires concealed valves to work, it keeps the overall design aesthetic and makes cleaning that bit more easier. On top of this, it keeps any sharp edges away from the bath, and in a family bathroom where children and little ones often use, is invaluable.
Finishing off
Something we commonly get from customers is ‘Monday jitters’ before the start of the project. This is completely understandable, it’s a large investment and ultimately work is being done to one of the most important rooms to any home. On the last day, when we are packing and cleaning up, hearing that those jitters have been completely undone and seeing the happiness and excitement on our client’s face is something we really do love to see. This pride in any and all work completed is something that sets our team of fitters apart from the rest.
