This week brings a project that has really brought a smile to all of those involved. Our client had always wanted her dream bathroom and after retirement, decided it was time. It was a pleasure to deliver this spectacular Speke renovation and proudly display the hard work of our expert team.
The project’s vocal points are the stunning matt white marble tiles featuring a subtle dark blue inlay, supplied by Mazzanna Tiles. Complementing this, an indigo blue furniture suite, supplied by Skudo Bathrooms, truly brought the bathroom to life.
Comparison and Testimonial
Stunning bathrooms were our third estimate. So glad we chose this company! Rodger came and straight away I could see his commitment to providing an excellent service. So thankful for his guidance and advice without influencing my choices. As for the team Kirk, Jack and Rob did an amazing transformation to our bathroom. They consulted us on each step of the way. So professional, polite, and hardworking they did the job in five days. The quality of work is above and beyond our expectations showing that they take pride in their work. We really have a beautiful stunning bathroom now. Thank you so much……. no hesitation to recommend you to others! – Mavis & John Lewin
The Project – Beginning
This project only had a small number of tiles in the old bath area and for a splashback. With the floor simply being the exposed floorboards, this was an easy demolition job for our team. Nevertheless, the same process is used for every project. Once the breakdown and removal of the old bathroom suite and tiles back to bare brick and plasterboard, the inspection can begin.
We then carry out all the necessary plumbing and electrical work prior to the walls being prepared for tiling and the ceiling installation. It is then time for the ceiling to go up. This is done before tiling as we want to keep an original size tile and cut it at the top of the walls, which gives us a nice small gap between the ceiling and the tiles. Not only this but the smoother cut allows a much cleaner finish when siliconing towards the end of the project.
Our first stumbling block was the shower tray! We inspected it upon arrival and found a hairline fracture and could not/would not install it. However, our team as committed as ever, personally drove to our supplier to pick a new one up the very next day. The last thing we want is to slow down or disrupt our fitting team and, in turn delaying the project. We installed the new tray and tiling could begin the very next morning.
The Project – End
To ensure no lippage between tile to tile, we use our tiling perfection system. This grips the tiles from the bottom while pulling them level at the top. The end result is perfect 2mm gaps between each and every tile with no lippage. Once the tiles are set, the clips can be removed and grouted using Kerakoll fugabella grout, a resin cement-based grout that is a market leader and the only grout we will ever use.
The finish of this project was perfect, as always. The indigo furniture set couldn’t have complimented the incredible tiles any better. The 3 windows let in a large amount of light in but with the LED mirror and high gloss finish celling, the bathroom will never lose its brightness, even on the dullest of days. A truly spectacular Speke renovation
Unveiling this project really did bring a strong sense of pride to our team. And although it is cliche, it really is the part that means the most. Our expert teams take immense pride in all the work they do, both in the bits that are seen and the unseen. When a project comes together and allows us to provide someone with something they have always wanted, that is the best part about every project.
