In this week’s blog we are going to have a more detailed and in-depth look at the work that goes on behind the scenes by our wonderful team. The project this week was for a lovely couple in Aughton, Lancashire. Ruth and Neil reached out to us after reading our google reviews and seeing our work on social media. The first thing that was done was to lay 3M protective plastic flooring down to ensure that no damage is done to the floor surrounding the bathroom and to help with the cleaning that is undertaken at the end of each day.
After this, the walls and flooring are completely stripped to the bare brick and walls of the home in order to assess and evaluate the structure of the room, something that is of up most importance in older properties. After this, the room is waterproofed using water resistant board and other materials to ensure that to rotting will ever take place, a common problem we come across when surveying a job.
The next step is to install the bath, where a rubber seal is meets the bath and wall furthermore ensuring a watertight fitting. Then, it is time for the tiles. This week we used a 300mm x 600mm porcelain tiles provided to us by Mazzanna Tiles Liverpool, with a beautiful mosaic feature inline with the taps which in our opinion really brings the room alive. In order to achieve tiling perfection, we use the very latest tools and tricks in the trade, something our 35 years + of experience really helps with as one misplaced tile can always make or break a final product.
After this, the finishing touches are added. The LED mirror, walnut bath panel and vanity unit are all installed along with the soft close toilet.
The end product of the project was extremely gratifying as it always is due to the effort and care we put into every bit of our work, but as always it is the client’s response that give us that sense of a job well done!
